SEE YOU THIS SATURDAY — VA MUFON YEAR 2014 IN REVIEW
The meeting calendar of events is in full swing and once again, our friend Ed Hruneni will be opening for us this Saturday. He’ll start with New Age music around 12:15 or so, followed by video shorts. Ed will also be offering raffle ticket sales with the winner taking home 75% of the kitty. Around 1:00-1:15PM, I’ll take over the meeting. We’ll be discussing some general news, like we always do and then get into the Best 2014 VA UFO Cases. The Investigators have done a phenomenal job under the leadership of Ben Moss. From a statistical CMS System point-of-view, we have never been in better shape than we are right now. I owe all of that to the gentlemen that have been keeping up with the caseload this past year, and that is no blarney! Also, Tony Angiola has been promoted to Assistant State Director for his dedication.
THE INVESTIGATORS REPORT: 2014 YEAR-IN-REVIEW
The Investigators and myself will outline the overall picture of the 2014 Year-in-Review in Virginia MUFON. We’ll take a bit of a statistical look as well as highlighting some of the best cases, complete with some visuals. Some of the “best” cases are ones that may have proven to be Identified, but were none-the-less capable of making a big splash. These cases earn their place in the list as a bit of a notorious case that we can learn from, which is always useful.
LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU WANT REMINDERS SENT OUT
I continually have issues with many people asking me if there is a meeting this Saturday or whatever. I realize communication is key with everything. The problem is some people want reminders out 10 days before, one week before or a couple days before. One person even requested a reminder the day before! The deal is that I can’t issue reminders custom-designed for everybody. But you have that power at your fingertips! Whether it’s a little black book, a smartphone, a fitbit, watch or a reminder that comes up in your email … you have the power to harness the type of reminder you need. If people email me with their idea of a reminder email timeframe, then I’ll tally them up and see what the majority want. Part of this is clearly my bias against so much email in my inbox. I personally like a “quiet cockpit” so I guess that’s my bias of not constantly sending reminders. I have only canceled one meeting in ten years! So if I mention a date, make a note of it YOUR WAY and Ben and Tony will try to make sure meeting dates are posted on the website: mufonva.com
APRIL 10th: HANGAR-1 WATCH PARTY
As many of you know by now, Ben Moss and Tony Angiola will be appearing in the next season of the cable show HANGAR-1 on H2 (History 2) or the main History Channel. it seems to be in a state of flux. At this time, the Premiere is set for April 3rd, but that is not convenient for Tony nor myself, as it’s Easter Weekend. So we’re celebrating Season 2 on April 10th at Grevey’s Restaurant, 8130 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22042. We’ll be gathering around 8:00PM to celebrate, with the show starting at 9:00PM. No matter what happens, we’re having the Party that night — it’s not dependent upon any late-breaking cable channel changes. We are on !
INT’L FORTEAN ORGANIZATION FORTFEST HAS BEEN BOOKED FOR MAY 9th & 10th !
I have booked both venues as last year for the INFO Fortfest for the weekend of May 9 &10. I’ll have the website fully functional shortly. It is the same hotel as last year, at the same rate. The venue for Sunday is again Dave & Busters Theater Room. The attendance fee is the same as last year, as well as the Food being the same menu in both places. Most importantly, Who are the Speakers? The following speakers have been confirmed: Jennifer Stein with her latest award-winning (EBE) film Travis depicting the life of the world’s most famous abductee, Travis Walton. George Hansen on the Liminalistic, Post-Structural View of Parapsychology involving Ritual. Dr.John Reed on preserving anomalistic collections throughout the world with his WISE Foundation (World Institute for Scientific Exploration). Rosemary Guiley on Speaking with the dead with the benefit of the latest technology. Local genius-type Bennett Kobb on a Meditation Practice that allows the subject to tune into Heavenly Music. Shannon Taggart on the history of Ectoplasm and being a photographer documenting real psychic events. Carl Lehrburger, coming in from the Denver area is an Environmental Engineer by trade, but with a 25-year penchant for researching facets of Ancient America and the odd artifacts that point to numerous wanderings by many peoples throughout the Americas — something that unnerves conventional historians. A great line-up if I do say so myself!
